From the London Eye, it is a short walk to London Aquarium and Saatchi Gallery, heading back towards the hotel (Plaza on the River). To reach the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben from here, cross Westminster Bridge and you'll see them on the left. Westminster Abbey is just across Parliament Square. Buckingham Palace is just a short taxi ride from Westminster Abbey. From Buckingham Palace, it is a 15-minute walk down The Mall to Trafalgar Square to Nelson's Column and the National Gallery.
Directly across the river from the hotel, Plaza on the River, is Tate Britain. From Tate Britain you can take a boat to Tate Modern, London's newest and most cutting-edge art gallery, which is next to the famous Globe Theatre with its Shakespearean productions. To reach St Paul's Cathedral, take London's new Millennium Bridge across the River Thames.
From St Paul's Cathedral it is a one-stop underground ride on the Central line to the Tower of London; at Bank underground station, take the Monument exit and follow the signs to the Tower of London. From the Tower of London, cross the river via Tower Bridge to the Shad Thames where there is a good selection of restaurants, with HMS Belfast and the London Dungeon nearby. Vinopolis City of Wine, London's latest wine-tasting attraction is a short walk from the London Dungeon, towards London Bridge. From London Bridge, there is a boat to Festival Pier where you are on the doorstep of the Royal Festival Hall and the Hayward Gallery. A short ride from nearby Waterloo underground station takes you to Leicester Square and the heart of London's theatre district, Covent Garden. From Covent Garden, it is a short underground ride back to the hotel (Plaza on the River), changing at Green Park for the Victoria line to Vauxhall underground station.
